    India’s Gujarat Hosts Fifth Investopia Edition as UAE Boosts Cross-Border Investment

    AHMEDABAD, India / RankWire.AI / — Over 500 officials from governments, institutional investors, and global business leaders gathered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, for the fifth installment of the Investopia Dialogues focused on expanding international capital flows into high-growth sectors. The event aimed to turn the increasing economic ties between the UAE and India into concrete collaborations and private-sector funding agreements, especially after the bilateral investment treaty was put into effect. Organizers emphasized that this platform plays a crucial role in speeding up cross-border investments in strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, sustainable manufacturing, and food security.

    The summit united key public and private stakeholders to explore opportunities in logistics, food security, advanced manufacturing, financial services, tourism, and artificial intelligence. UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri met with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel during the event. Discussions focused on expanding collaboration between Emirati companies and regional industrial hubs in Gujarat. Bin Touq highlighted Ahmedabad’s selection as a key location, emphasizing Gujarat’s prominence as a leading industrial and economic hub.

    Abdulrahman Mohammed Alhawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Investment and President of Investopia, shared that over 70 percent of total Gulf Cooperation Council investments into India originate from the UAE. He added that nearly 4,000 new Indian companies joined the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in the first quarter of 2026, emphasizing the strategic importance of Ahmedabad’s dialogues in helping Indian businesses access broader international markets through UAE financial centers.

    Enhancing Investment Flows into Emerging Industrial Corridors

    The event’s business impact was highlighted by key corporate announcements from regional leaders. Retail giant LuLu Group revealed plans for a 4,000 crore Indian rupee investment project in Ahmedabad. Chairman Yusuff Ali M.A. disclosed a development project covering 21 acres, including a shopping mall, a five-star hotel, and serviced apartments. This project is expected to generate over 15,000 employment opportunities. Additionally, the group is launching a food park and a fish-processing facility.

    Representatives from Marjan Developers pointed to rising Indian investment in real estate and hospitality. Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Saqr bin Omar Al Qasimi indicated that Indian funding plays a key role in transforming Ras Al Khaimah into an international destination. Meanwhile, executives from Silal Group, including CEO Dhafer Al Qasimi, joined sector roundtables to assess advances in modern agriculture, cold-chain logistics, and supply chain resilience.

    Strengthening Private Sector Alliances and Technology Adoption

    Panels focused on the importance of sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and private equity in financing large infrastructure projects. Attendees discussed strategies to simplify regulations to foster investment in high-return industries. Discussions also highlighted technology transfer, emphasizing the development of digital infrastructure and boosting artificial intelligence integration across manufacturing sectors. The aim was to enhance the global competitiveness of both economies within knowledge-driven industries.

    The summit concluded with multiple bilateral meetings to finalize institutional agreements among participating organizations. Organizers stated that the platform will keep facilitating international dialogues in key markets to align private investments with long-term macroeconomic goals. Focusing on trade infrastructure, industrial technology, and joint ventures, the Investopia Dialogues initiative continues to foster predictable investment pathways that support global economic progress.
