Air Arabia will reintroduce daily nonstop flights connecting Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, India, beginning October 16, 2026. This move will re-establish a direct air link between the UAE emirate and the coastal city in Kerala. The airline revealed the route’s return on October 6, and passengers are now able to book tickets for the service. The daily flights will link Ras Al Khaimah International Airport with Kozhikode International Airport in southern India.

According to Air Arabia, the reinstated route will offer travelers consistent daily connectivity between the UAE and India. Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, is situated along Kerala’s Malabar Coast in southern India. The airline did not specify the departure and arrival times in its October 6 announcement. Nor did it provide details about the aircraft type or flight numbers for the resumption of daily service. These specifics were absent from the latest statement.
Adel Al Ali, group CEO of Air Arabia, expressed satisfaction with the route’s return, emphasizing the importance of restoring this direct connection. He highlighted that the daily flights will provide passengers with a convenient link between the two destinations. Al Ali also reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to offering reliable travel options and fostering community connections. The company cited passenger demand between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode for bringing back the route, though it did not disclose any passenger forecasts or traffic estimates.
Kerala route reinstated with daily flights
This Kozhikode route expands Air Arabia’s network of nonstop services from Ras Al Khaimah. Currently, the airline operates direct flights to Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar from the emirate. The return of flights to India will add Kozhikode to this list starting October 16. Since beginning operations at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in May 2014, Air Arabia has maintained the emirate as one of its UAE bases.
The airline initially launched nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode on November 22, 2023. During that period, the route operated three times weekly with Airbus A320 aircraft, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, under flight numbers G9 728 and G9 729. The upcoming resumption in 2026 will increase the schedule to a daily service. However, the airline has not confirmed whether the previous flight numbers or departure times will be used for the restored flights.
Bookings now available ahead of October restart
Passengers can reserve seats on the resumed flights through Air Arabia’s website, its call center, or via travel agencies. The airline confirmed these booking options when announcing the October restart. The latest statement did not specify when the previous service was discontinued or explain the reason for the interruption. Additionally, fares, detailed operating times, or aircraft specifics for the new daily flights were not disclosed. The airline’s announcement mainly focused on the restart date, frequency, and the direct city pair.
The October 16 revival marks the return of Kozhikode to Air Arabia’s Ras Al Khaimah network nearly three years after the route’s initial launch. The service will again offer a nonstop connection between Ras Al Khaimah and Kerala. Although the airline has confirmed daily flights from the restart date, other schedule details remain undisclosed. Passengers seeking exact timings, flight numbers, or fares should consult the airline’s booking channels for current information. No additional changes to the route have been announced by the carrier.
